PU Leather Care

Everyday Protection

• Don’t overload it: A shoulder bag‘s entire weight rests on one strap and its stitching. Consistently overpacking stresses the seams and can loosen them over time. Load only what you need for the day.
• Rotate between bags: Wearing the same shoulder bag every day concentrates wear at the strap contact point and one corner. Rotating between 2–3 bags lets the PU material “rest” and extends its overall lifespan.
• Keep it off rough or sharp surfaces: Set the bag down on soft, clean surfaces and avoid dragging it against concrete or metal edges, which cause scratches (PU leather scratch-prevention tips).

Cleaning

• • Dust weekly: Wipe with a dry microfiber cloth or soft brush to remove surface dust before it builds into a harder-to-remove residue.
  • Use pH-neutral cleaners only: For stains, use a pH-neutral cleaner with a slightly damp soft cloth. Avoid bleach, alcohol, or acetone — these strip the PU surface coating and cause cracking or peeling (what to avoid on PU leather).
  • Spot-test first: Always test any cleaning solution on an inconspicuous area (bag base or interior) before applying it to a visible stain, to rule out discoloration.

Storage

• Avoid direct sunlight and heat: UV exposure and high heat fade PU leather and make it stiff or brittle. Store in a cool, dry place, away from radiators or a hot car interior.
• Don’t seal it airtight: Long-term storage in a sealed plastic bag traps moisture and can lead to mold or surface bubbling. Use a breathable dust bag or cotton cover instead.
• Stuff it to hold shape: When not in use, fill the bag lightly with tissue paper or a soft cloth to prevent it from collapsing or creasing.

Canvas / Textile Care (for fabric-paneled styles)

• Avoid soaking: Canvas doesn’t like full submersion. Spot-clean with a damp cloth rather than soaking the whole bag; if a full wash is needed, hand-wash in cold water with a mild detergent, without aggressive scrubbing that can fray or distort the weave (canvas bag cleaning guide).
• Treat spills immediately: Canvas absorbs liquid quickly, so blot spills right away with a dry cloth — delaying lets stains set into the fibers.
• Air-dry out of direct sun: Sun exposure fades darker canvas colors and weakens the fibers over time (canvas care essentials).
• Check seams periodically: Handle attachments and seam joints are the first spots to show wear on canvas — inspect regularly and address loose threads before they spread.
